The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the brownish colour of the municipal water supply to Lorraine, Westering, Sunridge Park, Kabega Park, Sherwood, Rowallan Park, Bridgemeade and Framesby is expected to return to normal within the next two days.
Municipality spokesperson, Kupido Baron, says the problem came about as a result of the water level of the Chelsea Reservoir dropping to 7% early on Monday morning following an electricity outage on Sunday at the Nooitgedacht Water Treatment Works.
He says this resulted in pressure on the demand on the rest of the water distribution system and storage reservoirs.
Baron says the water level of the Chelsea Reservoir is currently around 22% and will increase steadily over the next couple of days.
