Archbishop Thabo Makgoba and the Commissioner of the South African Human Rights Commission, Sindiwe Magona, will lead a delegation of eminent South Africans, including activists, academics, authors and political analysts, to under-resourced schools in the Eastern Cape.
Equal education says in a statement the aim of the visit is to raise awareness about the school infrastructure crisis and the need for quality Minimum Norms and Standards for School Infrastructure.
It says it campaigned for two years and instigated legal action against Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, before she agreed to set the regulations, due to be published on or before 15 May.
