Judgement in the disciplinary hearing of the Bitou municipal manager is expected on Friday 16 December.
In his latest newsletter, Bitou mayor, Memory Booysen, said judgment in the disciplinary hearing of Lonwabo Ngoqo was expected on the First of December.
However, because retired judge Pete Combrink, called additional witnesses, judgement was delayed, with sentencing expected in January.
Ngoqo was suspended in July for apparently failing to give his full support to the DA-led council following the general election.
Meanwhile, Booysen, has slammed a 2009 land purchase by the then ANC-led municipality as one of the biggest mishaps for the town.
He says the 196 hectare Huysoord Farm which was bought for 9.2 million rand to house stray animals from the township and elsewhere, has fallen into disrepare.
Booysen says during a recent visit he discovered that the animals were thin and poorly cared for and that the farmhouse was just a shell.
He says the Bitou municipality is working with the Western Cape agriculture department to try and salvage the project.
