Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says itâs currently experiencing delays in helping the public at its driving license division in Uitenhage and Korsten.
This is a result of the defective electronic equipment which the Metro says is the responsibility of the National Department of Transport to repair and replace.
In a brief statement today, Nelson Mandela Bay said it will be bringing in three Live Scanning Units from the training college to help ease the delays.
The Metro says the Licensing Division is in constant contact with the Provincial department of Transport to request assistance.
It says the situation aggravates the current problems of staff shortages and is the direct cause of abnormally long queues and waiting time at its centres.
