Three former Selborne College learners accused of assaulting a group of seven Grade 8 learners in their hostel room made a brief appearance in the East London Magistrate's court on Thursday.
Represented by a private lawyer, Alizwa Matwa, Liyema Badli and Liyabona Masebe had their case postponed to the 5th of May for further investigation.
They're alleged to have beaten the 14-year-olds with cricket bats putting several of them in hospital.
The accused were released on warning in November, to complete their matric exams, for which Badli got four distinctions.
Two of the accused were first-team captains in rugby and hockey, while also maintaining prefect positions in their college and hostel.
They remain out on warning until their next court appearance.
