Decomposed body identified as missing learner from Great Brak

 The decomposed body of a young woman found in a bushy area in Great Brak River last year, has been confirmed as that of a 15 year old learner from the area.

Elouise Witbooi went missing in October last year.

The deceased was a learner from the Great Brak Secondary School and celebrated her 15th birthday shortly before she went missing.

A decomposed body was found in the Wolwedans area a few weeks after the girl was reported missing.

DNA tests confirmed the identity of the girl.

It is suspected that the deceased was raped and murdered but police opened an inquest docket as the cause of death cannot be determined due to the fact that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
