A 37-year-old man is expected to appear in the Addo Magistrates court on Wednesday on a charge of murder.
That’s after a decomposed body, believed to be that of his missing girlfriend, was found in a pit toilet on Sunday.
According to police, 30-year-old Zelna Baartman was last seen on the 18th of June and was reported missing by her family 48 hours later.
The victim was last seen in the company of her boyfriend.
A post mortem and DNA analysis will be conducted to confirm that the remains found were that of Baartman.
Her body was found in a pit toilet in an informal settlement in Valencia.
