The man who died when his car went over the cliff on the Voëlklip Road at Herold’s Bay has been identified as 50-year-old Bertus van Niekerk.
The George Herald reports that he leaves behind his wife, two daughters, a son as well as a sister and mother.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said emergency services were dispatched to the scene at about 15:30 on Thursday after a member of the public raised the alarm.
Van Niekerk’s body was retrieved later by authorities.
Police have opened an inquest docket into the matter.
