The death toll from Thursday morning's accident near Queenstown has risen to six.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Tsepo Machaea, says four people died on the scene when a mini-bus taxi collided with a truck on the N-6 outside the town.
He says two people who were seriously injured in the crash died later in hospital.
One other person remains in a serious condition in hospital. Eight others were slightly injured
Machaea says its alleged that the taxi failed to stop at an intersection and then collided with the truck.
He says a forensic team will be sent from Pretoria to assist in the investigation of the accident.
