Knysna residents have given the Knysna Municipality until Tuesday to provide them with proof of documentation that the municipality did in fact follow all the correct procedures before giving the green light for the erection of a mosque in Rawson Street.
Knysna Municipality has in the meantime appointed attorneys to oppose a review application from Knysna homeowners which was filed in the Cape Town High Court.
The Knysna residents want the court to set aside a decision that allows for the erection of a mosque in the area.
The Knysna Ratepayers Association alleges that the municipality's decision contravenes its own regulations and bylaws.
Some of the objections include that there will not be enough parking space and that the proposed area includes Small Street in the Knysna town centre.
