A 42-year-old man has been remanded in custody after a ton of dagga worth R8 million was discovered on his truck.
Petrus Nene, who is believed to be from Durban, was travelling along the N1 near Beaufort West on Wednesday when he was pulled over at a roadblock.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says a provincial traffic officer detected a strong scent of dagga and ordered a search of the truck.
He says three more people were arrested along the same stretch of road for transporting drugs.
They are all due in court this week.
