Dagga bust at flats in Humewood, Gqeberha

A suspect who lives in a flat in Windermere Road in Humewood, Gqeberha, is in police custody after several packets of dagga was found inside his residence.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says police received an anonymous tip from a community member who told police that there was a suspicious package in the building's basement.

She says two members from Humewood Police responded at 11.30 am on Tuesday where they found a suspect in possession of the said package.

Colonel Naidu says when they inspected the parcel they discovered dagga and a further search was done inside the suspect's flat.

She says in his flat police discovered 150kg’s of compressed dagga with a street value of R200 000.

The man is expected to appear in court soon.
