The DA in the Makana Municipality says it will not hesitate to lay criminal charges against officials found guilty of political interference in the administration of the embattled municipality.
This, in the wake of revelations in the 89-page Kabuso Forensic Report.
The Daily Dispatch says the report names mayor Zamuxolo Peter's strategic adviser and other top officials for alleged financial irregularities.
DA chief whip in the Makana Council at Grahamstown, Brian Fargher, says the report commissioned by the Makana Council had been kept hidden from Council in an attempt to protect corrupt officials and politicians implicated in the report.
He told Algoa FM News that they've also requested that a Council meeting be scheduled to discuss the Kabuso Report.
"We commited a request that there the Kabuso report is tabled in Council. Everybody, including the Minister has seen the report except the Councillors and neither has the municipal committee" he said
