Democratic Alliance leader, Helen Zille has appealed to residents of Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape to change their fate through voting.
The DA leader visited the town today which has recently been beset by protests, following claims of a lack of proper service delivery from the Senqu Municipality.
In her message to residents, Zille said elections will give them a chance to choose a party that will take their needs seriously.
Meanwhile, the ANC in the Eastern Cape said Zille's visit was opportunistic and an act of desperation.
ANC provincial spokesperson, Oscar Mabuyane, says government is working with local stakeholders to address the issues in Sterkspruit and there is no need for Zille to interfere.
