The Democratic Alliance has terminated the membership of Nelson Mandela Bay councillor, Stanford Slabbert.
He was charged with bringing the party into disrepute and offending his colleagues for circulating an offensive and racist email.
DA provincial leader, Atholl Trollip, says Slabbert appealed his guilty finding, but the guilty verdict was upheld.
He says "racism remains a blight in our new constitutional democracy and the DA is determined through its policy of Reconciliation, Redress, Diversity and Delivery to do everything in its power to help eradicate racism and prejudice from our society."
