DA Councillors in the Buffalo City Municipality walked out of a special council meeting in East London on Wednesday .
The meeting was a sequel to an earlier one where members of the public and the media were not allowed in.
That meeting was to discuss the suspension of Municipal Manager, Andile Fani.
DA caucus leader Terence Fritz told Algoa FM News that the ANC caucus wanted to include an exigency (urgent) item which was not part of the agenda.
He said the item was not part of the agenda that Council speaker Luleka Simo Nzele had instructed them to prepare for.
"What we are saying is that the ANC discuss issues and the issues they discuss in their caucus they want the DA to be part of it and accept the way they do things. We are saying if they follow the rules, there will be no problems" he said
PAC Councillor Jerome Mdyolo said the item is the issue of suspending Fani.
"If the ANC will use their majority to put an item on the agenda as PAC we will excuse ourselves" he said
