DA calls on Makana Municipality to make Kabuso report public

The DA in the Makana Municipality has launched a petition calling on the Makana administrator, Pam Yako, to make the Kabuso report public.

DA MP, Andrew Whitfield, says over the next few weeks they will be collecting signatures and engaging members of the public on this important issue.

He says this is in order to put pressure on Cooperative Governance Minister Pravin Gordhan, MEC Fikile Xasa and administrator Pam Yako, to act against corruption and maladministration by publishing the report for all to see.

Whifield says the petition will also serves as a public awareness campaign, designed to empower the residents of Makana, while promoting transparency and accountability.

He says this week marks one year since the ANC led Makana Council resolved to commission a forensic investigation into the maladministration and corruption of the Makana Municipality.

Whitfield says the report has been completed, but the ANC has repeatedly failed to act on it.
