Cunningham poised to enter plea deal with the state

A Port Elizabeth man accused of severely assaulting his girlfriend in a widely publicised case, is poised to enter into a plea agreement with the state.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Tsepo Ndwalaza, says 21-year Brent Cunningham's legal representative is in negotiations with the state.
He made another appearance in the St Albans prison courtroom on Thursday where his case was rolled over to Friday.
Cunningham has been charged with assaulting former girlfriend, Shireen Ballan, and two other people in December.
