Cradock teenager arrested for rape

 Cradock police have arrested a 15-year-old boy for the alleged rape of a 5-year-old girl.

Police captain Stefani Smit says the incident occurred on Tuesday while the girl was playing in a street in Michausdal with friends.

She says the youth called the victim to his house where he allegedly raped her.

Smit says the matter was reported to police on Wednesday and the suspect was taken into custody.
He will appear in court on Friday.
