Cradock man back in court for alleged "affair" with minor

A man from Cradock, who faces charges of rape and kidnapping of a 13 year-old girl, appeared in the town's magistrates court on Wednesday morning.

The man, who is believed to have been in a sexual relationship with the child, was arrested in Bloemfontein in October last year.

Free State police spokesperson Chaka Marope says the 52 year-old man was with the girl when he was apprehended at a guest house in Universitas, Bloemfontein.

The case was postponed until the 6th of February for further investigation.

The man remains in custody.
