The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMB) has expressed its concern about the growth in Covid-19 numbers in the Metro.
Zwide and New Brighton are the new areas of concern as each has surpassed 500 positive cases.
The Metro says Motherwell is still the city's hotspot with 1 753 confirmed cases as st 11 July.
KwaZakhele has 906 cases while Uitenhage and Kwanobuhle followed closely at 957 and 955 respectively.
The acting Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Thsonono Buyeye says he is deeply concerned about the numbers in the Metro.
He says he hopes the curfew will stop illegal gatherings and parties.
Meanwhile, the numbers at St Albans prison have also seen a spike and they currently have 150 cases.
The Chairperson for the Disaster Management Forum in NMB Shane Brown says hotspots are growing and will continue to grow until residents change their behaviour.
According to the latest Covid-19 national stats the Eastern Cape has recorded 709 deaths and has 19 975 active cases.
