GO GEORGE has announced that from Sunday, cash will no longer be accepted on buses as a means to purchase trips.
The bus service says this forms part of the continued efforts to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Three Go George bus drivers have tested positive for Covid-19 with the third positive case confirmed last week.
Until further notice, the GO GEORGE Smart Card, introduced as a payment option about 20 months ago, will be the only means of paying for trips.
