The Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Investigation Unit is investigating a case of business robbery at a mall in Sherwood in Gqeberha on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said a man and a woman entered the retail clothing store and enquired about cell phones.
She said the woman insistent on seeing the actual phone, and when the staff members opened the safe she was confronted by the man who threatened her.
Janse Van Rensburg said she was forced into the safe and made to fill a black bag with cell phones.
She said the staffer was tied up and the pair fled with 37 devices.
No one was injured during the robbery.
