Eastern Cape Education MEC Mandla Makupula will launch the matric examination countdown campaign on Wednesday.
The launch takes place in Mthatha.
The Bhisho Education Department says the matric exam countdown campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of thorough preparations for 2012 Grade 12 examinations.
The Department says during the function, deputy director general Sithembele Zibi will outline the department's plans going forward.
These include the support to be provided to learners as well as monitoring and accountability expected of all role players.
