Convicted rapist and former tennis champion, Bob Hewitt has been granted parole and will be released from St Albans prison outside Port Elizabeth on 23 September.
A letter to one of Hewitt's victims from the chairperson of the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board, confirms Hewitt's release.
The letter, dated September 12, 2019, says that Hewitt will be placed under the "High-Risk category" for the duration of his parole, which will end on 19 September 2022.
This comes after the board received an application for consideration of parole on August 13.
Hewitt was convicted in 2016 for raping two teenagers and sexually assaulting a third while he was their coach in the 1980s and '90s.
He was sentenced to six years in prison.
