Well-known and controversial Port Elizabeth businessman, Raven Rungan, has been shot.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says the owner of V&R Auto was attacked at a three-way stop in Kamma Ridge at around 9.30 on Wednesday morning.
He says its alleged that when Rungan stopped at the intersection, a gunman walked up to his vehicle and fired ten shots at him.
Labans says the businessman was struck four times in the upper body.
He says he has been admitted to hospital in a stable condition.
Labans says members of a private security company pursued the alleged attacker, who fled in a white bakkie, but he says they were able to get away.
No arrests have been made.
