A pair of conjoined twins born in a Tsolo hospital will be transferred to the Red Cross children's hospital in Cape Town.
Eastern Cape Health Department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo, says clinical investigations and ultra-sound scans have been completed.
He says it appears that the twin girls, who have a combined weight of four kilograms, share a heart and a liver.
Kupelo says the children were born in the Dr Malizo Mphele hospital in Tsolo on Thursday.
This is the fifth set of conjoined twins born in the Transkei in the past two years.
