Nelson Mandela Bay Police have once again urged residents to take extra precautions to safeguard their homes and property following a spate of home invasions over the last few weeks.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the latest robbery was reported in Walmer Heights on Tuesday morning.
She says according to the complainant he was fast asleep when a noise in the lounge woke him up at half-past six.
Janse van Rensburg says as he went to investigate, he was confronted by an unknown male suspect and a scuffle ensued.
She says the suspect threw him against the wall injuring his face.
The suspect escaped through the sliding door with a phone, laptop and speaker.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says Tuesday's robbery was in a gated complex and residents tend to let their guard down by leaving windows, doors and garage doors open.
She says residents should always wait until their gates are closed before driving in and out of their complex.
