A Port Elizabeth doctor has until the 29th of March to respond to a complaint laid against him at the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
The 62-year-old doctor was arrested at his Rowallan Park practice last week on a charge of sexual assault.
However, he was released the same day because the police docket was incomplete.
The Health Professions Council's Priscilla Sekhonyane says the doctor has until the 29th of this month to provide a written response, even though he's not obliged to do so by law.
Since Algoa FM News first published the story online, at least 20 women took to our Facebook Page claiming to have been victims of the doctor.
Sekhonyane says the Health Professions Council has been made aware of these allegations which have now been brought to the attention of their legal advisors.
According to the police, several women came forward with complaints about the doctor's conduct, but none of them were prepared to make a statement.
