Cleaning operations are set to begin in earnest this morning after a number of homes were damaged in St Francis Bay on Saturday.
Several roads were also turned into raging torrents of water when a natural dam wall broke.
The collapse of the dam is believed to have been caused by recent heavy rains which saturated the area and compromised the strength of the wall.
Municipal workers have already begun emergency repairs to a number of roads in the area which were left with gaping pot holes once the water had supsided.
