Police in Thembalethu in George are investigating the abduction of two boys who were tied to a tree and one of them was set alight.
Police spokesperson, Captain Dumile Gwavu, says one boy suffered some burn wounds in the incident.
Gwavu says the boys, aged 11 and 13, managed to free themselves and reported the matter to police.
It is alleged that the boys had stolen a car rim from the man.
The police recovered the clothes that the boys were wearing and a case of abduction is being investigated.
Gwavu says they're getting no cooperation from the local community and the suspect has not yet been arrested.
