Police at Berlin outside East London have arrested a 58-year-old man, believed to be the driver of a private school bus, on charges of drunken driving and culpable homicide.
Police spokesperson, captain Nkosikho Mzuku says the man allegedly ran over and killed a five-year-old girl whilst dropping off children at a primary school in Berlin on Monday morning.
The suspect is due to appear in the King William's Town Magistrate's Court soon on charges of drunken driving and culpable homicide.
Captain Mzuku says the name of the child will only be released once her next of kin have been informed.
