The Chris Hani District Municipality has refuted claims on social media of an imminent water outage in Komani (Queenstown).
In a brief statement on Sunday, the Municipality refuted allegations on social media that there is a lack of chemicals to treat the water.
“The municipality refutes these rumours as baseless and devious as there is no shortage of chemicals and neither has the municipality outsourced its responsibility to share information regarding its core business – water services.”
The Chris Hani District Municipality has cautioned the community to be “vigilant and verify messages they receive on WhatsApp or social media”.
The Municipality urged residents to use its customer care line 0800100100 which is accessible 24 hours or our Facebook page and twitter handles.
