Port Elizabeth police said that the charred remains of three people were found in bushes at Wells Estate on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, Constable Mcedi Mbombo, said two males, aged 24 and 26, were taken to hospital with severe burn injuries.
“They were found in the bushes along N2 between Truckers Inn and Bluewater Bay at about 14:30, with the assistance of police helicopter,” he said.
Constable Mbombo said “at this stage, the motive for the incidents are not known. “
Cases of murder and attempted murder have been opened for investigation.
