Police in Ladismith in the Western Cape are investigating the murder of a young boy whose charred remains were found in a shallow grave on a farm in the area.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, said the grim discovery was made on the Hartmansleegte farm in Hoeko, Ladismith, on Tuesday morning.
He said the body of the boy, said to be about seven years old, was discovered following a tip-off to Ladismith SAPS.
Pojie said DNA tests will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the child’s identity.
