Police in Ladismith in the Western Cape are investigating the murder of a young boy whose charred remains were found in a shallow grave on a farm in the area.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, said the grim discovery was made on the Hartmansleegte farm in Hoeko, Ladismith, on Tuesday morning.
He said the body of the boy, said to be about seven years old, was discovered following a tip-off to Ladismith SAPS.
Pojie said DNA tests will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the child’s identity.
Police are also appealing to the public for information that would assist the investigation to contact Ladismith SAPS or the investigating offer W/O Clinton Crawley at 028 551 8144 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
