The Tsitsikamma Business Chamber and the Tsitskikamma Tourism Association have spoken out on the imminent closure of eco adventure company, Storms River Adventure.
The company has been asked to vacate the state land it occupied after SA National Parks said it would not be renewing its concession after 15 years.
The closure of the company will leave more than 90 families without an income.
The chairperson of the Tsitsikamma Business Chamber, Yolande Le Roux, says she's concerned about the ripple effect the closure of Storms River Adventures will have on the area.
"With the business closing we are looking at plus minus 90 families that will sit without an income, not only these families but also a number of the accommodation facilities and eateries also get some kind of spin-off from tourists coming into the area. This will therefore have a broader economic impact" Le Roux said.
