Police Minister, Bheki Cele and his Deputy Minister, Cassel Mathale, will deliver the eulogies at the funeral services this weekend of two police officers who were killed on duty.
Police said earlier that 42-year-old Sergeant Lwando Bunga was killed while responding to an attempted armed robbery by a gang in East London on 1 May.
The incident took place in West Bank when the gang reportedly tried to make their way into a facility of a private security company. Two security officers were wounded during the incident in which explosives were reportedly also used.
Meanwhile, two days later Gqeberha court orderly, Sergeant Mario Nel, was shot dead inside the Motherwell court building by a suspect who stole his firearm.
The man was arrested shortly afterward and the stolen firearm was recovered.
"The Police Ministry wishes to pay its final respects to the fallen members, who will be buried on Friday and Saturday," said Ministry spokesperson, Lirandzu Themba.
The Hawks are also investigating the shooting of another police officer, 42-year-old Sergeant Khayalethu Mbonomnyama, who was fatally wounded while sitting in his car outside a tavern early on Sunday.
He was attached to the Swartkops SAPS Rapid Response Unit.
