Thornhill police are searching for the gunmen who shot and killed a 60-year-old man during a farm robbery on Thursday night.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, has identified him as Victor Anton Janse Van Rensburg.
He says at least three men are believed to have been involved in the robbery of a farmhouse at Gamtoos Mouth.
Kinana says Janse Van Rensburg responded to the break-in went to investigate and was fatally wounded.
He says the 71-year-old farm owner was not injured.
The men fled with two handbags and two cell phones and remain at large.
