The Eastern Cape Department of Environmental Affairs says members of so-called Green Scorpions have discovered two Cape Vultures over the weekend near Stutterheim which were suspected to have been poisoned.
Deputy Director, Jaap Pienaar, says the birds were found near the N6 with their heads and feet meticulously cut off.
He says its of a major concern that these endangered birds are being killed.
Pienaar says anyone with information is asked to make contact with the department of environmental affairs.
"It was discovered that these two birds were laying next to each other. Their heads and feet were cut off very neatly. It is of major concern that these endangered birds are still being killed, We invite members of the public or farmers in the area of Stutterheim to report any mortalities on these birds, because normally if it is poison it normally does not only kill two birds, unfortunately there is always more that is always involved in this." says Pienaar.
