The Graaff-Reinet area is calm on Friday morning following a two-day late night protest.
Police Spokesperson Warrant officer, Wessel Cronje says the protest action started on Wednesday afternoon.
Cronje says the protest is by the area's ANC Youth League over unresolved grievances with certain municipal members.
He says protesters made use of petrol bombs to set alight municipal property and vehicles.
He says a business truck was also set on fire and it is a complete write off.
The roads have been opened but police are still monitoring the area.
No arrests have been made.
