Cable thieves target PE Hospital

The Eastern Cape Health Department says an attempted theft of electric cables at Dora Nginza Hospital left the institution without power in operating theatres and other parts of the hospital.

Health Department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo, says electrical contractors were brought in and the situation resolved.

The Democratic Alliance says some people who were scheduled to have operations were turned away yesterday.

Kupelo says the attempted theft did not impact on key services.
