A 17 year old girl is recovering in a Port Elizabeth hospital after being hit by a stray bullet in Helenvale on Sunday night.
Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Alwin Labans says the girl was standing in the street with her friends when two men started shooting at each other nearby.
A bullet struck the girl in the leg as she tried to run to safety.
Labans says there were also two shooting incidents in Malabar just after 8 o'clock on Sunday night.
A 30 year old man was shot in the stomach by an unknown suspect whilst another man's dog was shot a few streets away.
Labans says a 24 year old man heard his dog barking and when he opened the door of his home he recognised the shooter and ran back inside.
His dog was shot in the leg.
No arrests have been made.
