Busy November for snake catcher in Oudtshoorn

Nineteen snakes have been caught in Oudtshoorn in the past two weeks.

Snake catcher, Mornay Thysse says most of the snakes that he had to catch were the Cape Cobra.

He says the snakes were mostly found in gardens and in houses in the area after concerned residents phoned the Oudtshoorn Municipality.

Thysse says it is normal for more snakes are visible during the warmer summer months.

He warns residents not to catch the snakes themselves but to rather alert the municipality.
