The owner of a liquor store was shot and killed in George on Monday morning.
Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the 51-year-old man was shot inside the store in the Nelson Mandela Boulevard at 9 am.
He says the man was shot multiple times in the chest and efforts by paramedics to save his life were in vain.
Pojie says a possible suspect was arrested and a firearm was confiscated.
Police will now send the gun for ballistic tests to see if it was used in Monday's murder or any other crimes.
The suspect was taken to the Conville police station and he will appear in court later this week on a charge of murder.
