Police in Gqeberha are investigating after burglars caused damage running into hundreds of thousands of rand to the Motherwell Library.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said a case of housebreaking is under investigation following the break-in on Friday night.
She said computers, furniture, and stationery had been stolen.
Naidu said water pipes were also ripped off and water flooded the library leading to an estimated loss of R300 000 due to the theft and damage.
She said no arrests were made and the investigation was ongoing.
