Buffalo City Metro law enforcement constables appear in court on fraud charges

Two Buffalo City Metro Law Enforcement constables appeared in the East London Magistrate Court on Tuesday on charges of fraud.

In May this year, 37 year-old Christopher Adams and 28 year-old Bradley Naidoo allegedly demanded and took a bribe or R250 from Keagan Seth Moodley who was in possession of dagga.

The contables were on duty patrolling around Batting Bridge when they spotted Moodley and his partner in a car at a picnic area nearby.

The charge sheet indicates that they ordered Moodley into their van and took him to the Beacon Bay police station and made the demand on the way.

No charges were formally laid against Moodley, however he reported the bribe soon after.

The two officers were released on warning and are due back in court on the 27th of October.
