Buffalo City Executive Mayor, Xola Pakati has tested negative for COVID-19, following a test earlier in the week.
He says they hope that many residents of Buffalo City Metro will present themselves for screening and tests led by the Department of Health.
Pakati says he will continue to maintain social distancing, regularly wash his hands with soap and also avoid shaking hands.
He says this is what residents of the Metro should aim to achieve at this time.
The Mayor says those who test positive should ensure that they submit themselves for State isolation as announced by the President, and fully disclose their contacts in order to ensure that they too receive urgent care.
