Buffalo City executive mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha, will turn the sod on Wednesday for a multi-million rand land restitution project in West Bank in East London.
The R160m, multi-year project, is being implemented by Buffalo City Metro in partnership with the Provincial Department of Rural Development and Land Reform and the West Bank Restitution Association.
The West Bank restitution claim was settled in 2000 with the signing of a settlement agreement with Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality and then Department of Local Government and Housing.
As part of the agreement, Buffalo City, made a commitment to contribute towards the installation of bulk infrastructure services.
