British High Commissioner to South Africa, Judith Macgregor, says no country in the world is immune to terror attacks.
Macgregor, who's on her first visit to Port Elizabeth, spoke at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University on Thursday on British foreign policy in areas of security, prosperity and education.
Speaking to Algoa FM News, Macgregor said the underlying causes leading to security problems need to be addressed.
"It's a problem in terms of countering terrorism, raising awareness of terrorism, finding the most effective methods against terrorism in democratic societies which are more vulnerable, they are more open. They don't want big walls around their museums or people on guard in museums, it's not what museums are about worldwide. I think our position is that we probably need to work harder and certainly in a global way." says Macgregor.
