Breakthrough following Mthatha double murder mystery

Eastern Cape police have arrested three suspects for the murders of two people whose bodies were found at Mthatha Dam.

The victims are from the area and have been identified as Carl George and Jacqueline Miller, both twenty years old.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, says a post mortem revealed that they were killed with a blunt object.

Their bodies were found on Monday by the police K-9 Search and Rescue Unit while the vehicle belonging to one of the victims was found in Kwa Link village the same day.

Fatyela told Algoa FM News that a task team followed up on strong leads and arrested three suspects on Tuesday night aged between 19 and 22.

The suspects were found in possession of vehicle keys and clothing items belonging to the victims.

The vehicle belonging to one of the victims was found at Kwa-Link, a village near Mthatha dam on Monday already.

The three suspects will appear at the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
